Adventure Academy is currently accepting applications for the Fall of 2025 -2026 school year.  Please read through these instructions carefully as applications cannot be submitted until all steps are completed.   

The Application Process:

We look forward to exploring whether your family might thrive in our school. Our application process is designed to make sure that we are the right school to serve the learning needs of your child and your family. Follow the steps below in order to ensure the best fit for our school.  Due to the high interest we receive in our community, we do ask each parent to take the time to do your own self-learning to help determine if Adventure Academy will be a good fit for your family. 

STEP 1:

Please familiarize yourself with the Adventure Academy learning overview.  We have many great resources to help you understand our model and consider whether your family would be a good fit at Adventure Academy. Please watch, read or listen to all of these links (below) and be prepared to answer questions about them on your application: 

1. Watch the Ted Talk by Jeff Sandefer called ‘Rethinking Education’.  Our learning model follows many of these ideals. 

2. Read The Four Hour School Day by Durenda Wilson to learn about the inspiration for Adventure Academy learning.

3. Review Maria Montessori's  Self-directed learner scale to understand the goal of coaching students towards independence and ownership of their education. 

STEP 2:

1. Phone call- A phone call allows us to have an initial conversation to make sure your family is a good fit, and our values are aligned.

2. Tour and informational meeting- Tour our classes while we are in session to get a feel for our community and the things we do while we meet. 

3. Shadow day- Come for a shadow day (students only) and immerse yourself in the learning activities to get a feel for what we do each day we meet. 

STEP 3:

Submit your application for enrollment by clicking on the link below.  Please note that you must be familiar with all of the resources (listed above) as you will be asked questions about them in the application.

• Admissions decision: We will inform you of our admissions decision soon after your phone call, tour, shadow day and  interview. We have limited spots for fall of 2025 and we want to ensure each student is a good fit with our unique approach to education.
